Global Variations is a think tank in the field of interactions between geopolitics and innovation. The initiative aims to provide prospective research and documentation to public and private organizations. Our objective is to serve innovation and to propose solutions thanks to a broad range of experts, scientists and researchers, politicians, economists, civil servants, managers, students and many others... through the creation of short-term focus group of interest and expertise (Nodes).
The trademark of the GV approach is to rely upon knowledge in cognitive science and neuroscience. We will develop and share this new methodology to think about prospective scenarios. In fact, we believe that understanding how the brain and the mind work improves our understanding of the world. As a decentralized Think-tank based on network, meetings and methodology bringing together the study of disruptive technologies and geostrategic policies, Global Variations wants to build a web based platform enabling academic, economic and public actors to meet and to work on common thematic of interests, providing diversification, network effect and innovative thinking.
Global Variations will offer users a simple and cheap solution to access research on specific fields while remunerating contributors. The platform should work as a community, where remuneration and cost are function of the thematic "hotness" and contributor notation on the network.
Until now, Geopolitics has been analyzed through the classical spectrum of political science. Political science is a social science that deals with systems of governance, and the analysis of political activities, political thoughts, and political behavior. It deals extensively with the theory and practice of politics, which is commonly thought of as determining of the distribution of power and resources.
With the growing and deepening scientific, economic and historical knowledge, the experts become more and more specialized, and their knowledge and work area become silos. Combination of silos and historical based methods leads to anecdotic governance policies.
Global Variations aims at addressing the link between geostrategic issues and new technologies through a new working method. In particular, the trademark of the GV approach is to rely upon knowledge in cognitive science and neuroscience. In fact, we believe that understanding how the brain and the mind work improves our understanding of the world.
Global Variations truly believes in the added value of difference and built a collaborative methodology for linking technological innovation and geopolitical tensions. Our platform describes phenomenon, analyses results, tries to predict evolutions and proposes innovative solutions thanks to a broad range of experts: scientists and researchers, politicians, economists, civil servants, managers, start uppers, students and many others.
High-profile individuals will be constantly recruited by GV Roots team to join the GV network, made of distinguished members called “Nodes”. They represent the excellency of the actual and upcoming world deciders and influencers and are our ambassadors around the world. GV Nodes is open to young, unexperienced and promising individuals.
Evolution has selected specific features of human cognition. Language, reading and music are comparatively very recent cultural inventions that “harnessed” (an expression by Mark Changizi) on the inner-structure of human brain. A universal intuitive toolbox of metacognitive skills might be taught in any educational system and acquired by world leaders and influencers. If spread to large community, this self-feedback tools can be embedded in all individuals for a better use of their cognitive ability.
The community will be inspired by the work of GV Nodes. As the community is getting bigger, Global Variations will need a platform to administrate its members. We want the member to be active contributors and to be reward for their work. The platform will spread GV approach linking inventions and governance together with 1-Flux. The platform will be an important resource for the think tank as well as a strong communication tool as it will display and offer our publications and research reports.
